THE LOCATION

Ciudad Quesada

Over the years Ciudad Quesada has developed into an award winning complex, finally getting it's own Town Hall, making it a town in its own right. The urbanization is located on south facing slopes with commanding views over the salt lakes of Torrevieja, one an actual working salt lake considered to be the most important in Europe, the other being a nature reserve. Beyond them the Mediterranean Sea glistens on the horizon. Further views take in the mountains and inland plains covered with orange and lemon groves filling the air with delicate aroma in flowering seasons.

Amongst the many facilities are an Aqua Park, Golf Course and Social Club with restaurant, live entertainment, bowls and swimming facilities (Charges are applicable). There are numerous Bars, Restaurants, Shops including newsagents, supermarkets a tobacconist, hairdressers, banks' with exchange facilities and medical centre. To conclude Ciudad Quesada is a secluded paradise, yet close enough to three towns, Torrevieja, Guadamar del Segura and Rojales, to cater for all types of holiday.

The whole of the complex is very stylish and picturesque with landscaped gardens surrounding the swimming pool with ceramic detail and including soft, atmospheric lighting in the evenings, embracing the whole Mediterranean feel.

There are many outstanding golf courses in the area including Royal Campoamor, Las Ramblas and Villa Martin where they have, in the past, held the Spanish Open, as well as La Marquesa which is part of the Ciudad Quesada urbanization.

You are only a short car ride away from some typically Spanish towns including Torrevieja, Guadamar del Segura, Elche, with one of Europe's largest palm forests, Santa Pola, famous for its seafood, Alicante, an exciting Spanish city and Benidorm, which is only one hours drive away.

From Torrevieja it is possible to get coaches to other cities further afield including Cartagena and Murcia

Torrevieja

Torrevieja is definitely a growing sunshine resort on the Costa Blanca. With 300 plus blue sky and blue sea days every year, one can understand why tourists from Barcelona and Madrid, as well as many European cities make this their summer vacation destination. Over the years Torrevieja has grown from a sleepy fishing town to an international tourist resort with it's expanding Marina and more recently the makeover of the promenade to encompass a safe, sea water swimming pool, as well as restaurants and bars for wining and dining from lunchtime tapas and snacks to full table d'hote and al a carte menus in the warm balmy evenings.

Amongst all the attractions the closeness to some excellent golf courses including Villa Martin, La Marquesa, Las Ramblas, Campoamor is a definite plus as well as being able to make a day trip to include a round of golf at La Manga. A spring and summertime funfair which is great fun for all the family is also there. A market on Friday which covers a large area of the old town is a must for everything from designer clothes and shoes to bed linen and jewellery. Every evening in the summer a craft market is open from the piazza to the beginning of the promenade. The fishing fleet is a sight to behold (if you can be down by the harbour early enough to see the boats come in with the days catch). A few hours later you could be eating it. Clubs, bars and restaurants are open until the early hours of the morning. All in all Torrevieja, the main town for the Guardamar, Rojales, Beniofar area, within the confines of Alicante and Murcia airports reaching to Benidorm and Cartegna communities controlled by Valencia Communidad is a mediterranean paradise.

People from within Spain as faraway as Barcelona and Madrid influx the area in summer to stay at the hotels, apartments and private accommodation on urbanizations such as Ciudad Quesada, La Marina and La Siesta. The area in the winter months replaces Spanish residents with nationalities such as British, Swedish, German, American, Italian and Dutch. There is a good selection of typically Spanish food and wines on offer at all times. To be tried are the native Valencian wines as well as Rioja, Navarra and of course Cava, the Spanish version (and often better) of Champagne.
